Salvation by the Spirit: an adventure, a transformation

The understanding of a salvation yet to come is highlighted by Paul in Romans 13:11. There he writes: “ As you know what time it is: it is time to awake you from sleep, for now salvation is nearer to us than when we came to faith” .

For Paul, salvation is what happens at the end of the journey, at the end of the path of Christian life. If salvation is anchored in what God has already accomplished in us, then it is also an event that comes closer to us every day.
