The spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me, for the LORD hath anointed me to bring good tidings to the afflicted; He sent me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to captives, And deliverance to prisoners; To proclaim a year of favor from the LORD, and a day of vengeance from our God; To console all the afflicted; To bestow upon the mourners of Zion, To give them a diadem instead of ashes, An oil of joy instead of mourning, A garment of praise instead of a downcast spirit, That they may be called terebinths of righteousness , A planting of the Lord, to serve his glory.
